1771 – 1878
Various tenants and owners of the guesthouse.
1878
Maria and August Ziegler buy the guesthouse. Production of smaller
amounts of liqueurs.
1900
Franz Ziegler, retailer, produces different fruit wines and from 1909
on he produces the Rhöner Rose Hip Wine.
1911
Franz Ziegler takes over and sets up a grocery store.
1921
Franz Ziegler acquires the right to distil today’s Hagebuttentropfen
(rose hip liqueur).
1926 – 1927
Construction of a new hall with stage and a new stable. Extension
to 14 guest beds.
1935
Agathe Ziegler takes over.
1951
Takeover by Clara and Rudolf Ziegler. First reconstruction of the
kitchen and smaller renovations and redecorations.
1962
Purchase of the neighbouring site and construction of the outbuilding
with 20 beds. Installation of the barrel cellar in the new building.
1970
Building of further restaurant area (32 seats) as well as new toilets
in the cellar.
1971 – 1973
The first rooms are equipped with shower and WC.
1975
Construction of the guesthouse in the garden. The guesthouse now
offers 45 beds.
1978
In the family for 100 years.
Takeover by Maria and Gerd Ziegler.
1980
Building of a new extension with 6 double rooms and a new laundry.
1983
Construction of the “Kleiner Saal” (small hall) with 50 seats.
1985
Total renovation of the “Großer Saal” (great hall) with installation
of a new arched ceiling.
1986
Reconstruction of the upper floor of the main building and building
of new guest rooms.
1988
Adding of one storey to the guesthouse..
The house now offers 70 beds, all furnished with shower and WC.
1990
Extensive renovation of the kitchen and the toilets. Extension of 20
more seats in the restaurant.
1995
Extension of the guesthouse in the garden
2003 – 2004
Extensive renovation of the roof of the original building as well as
reconstruction of the entrance area. Now 77 beds in 43 rooms, all
furnished with TV and telephone.The old vaults are still used as
wine cellar and barrel storeroom.
